Sweet memories - The eternal treasures of the heart.

Sweet memories - The eternal treasures of the heart.

I can never forget the nostalgic feeling that lights me up every time I pass through my village that holds my fondest childhood memories. Each memory has its own story. They are the ones who shaped me into the person I am today. The life that Allah has given us is short but the memory of a life well lived is eternal.

I remember the time in 2004. It was raining since morning. Javed knocked on the door and I allowed him to enter my reading room.

Javed: Zahid, the water level in the Vishu river has risen. Crops drowned and villagers lost their hard-earned property.

I wish! That's pitiful, replied I. Is the poplar tree standing on the banks of the Vishu river? I asked. Yes, Zahid, replied Javed.

Javed, I have fond memories of the poplar tree. As children we used to play cricket, volley ball, kabaddi and street stick under the shade of poplar tree. Tired beggars, travelers, bakers, date palmers, singers and fishermen were breathing their moan under the sweltering heat of the sun. These people belonging to different walks of life were exposing us to the countless treasures of the universe. In the afternoon, the snoring of people sleeping in the shade of this poplar tree was giving a new charm to the place. It was a place to study the varied habits of the birds, the chirping of the birds in the poplar tree and their melodious songs adding to the beauty of the scene. Both diurnal and nocturnal birds of different habitats were visiting this wonderful place. Its green leaves with wavy margins, woody stems and strong shoots with slanting tops gave the tongues of poets. It was not only in summer that this poplar tree attracted people, but in autumn, women would collect the leaves of this poplar tree and burn them to keep the traditional "Kangri" warm when it snowed. can be kept Also, during the summers, our primary classes used to study under the shade of this poplar tree.

It provides all-round development to learners eager to lead ethical, creative and productive lives. This poplar tree was an inspiration to all of us. To illustrate, poplars have attracted poets, poets, writers, politicians and philosophers. Poplars have made many poets to weep, writers to spill ink, millions to think, philosophers to their academic disciplines and thinkers to think seriously. That is why Allama Iqbal (may God bless him and grant him peace) has summarized the inheritance of the poplar tree in this beautiful Urdu verse with reference to Kashmir:

In the conscience of which there is fire,

It is not possible, how can it be cold?

Kashmir is called the land of selective dust, but it has a part of poplar in its conscience. Laldid also mentioned the poplar in his Vakh. In the shade of the poplar tree, the sad tunes of Haba Khatun were sung.

Javed: Oh! Great.

Couldn't remember that day at 6 pm but the year 2004 when I was saddened to know that the poplar tree was also submerged in the flood. Memories linger and are like the length of fluctuating waves going back and forth, yet maintaining balance.

Oh! Chanar You helped people when they felt lonely and sad. You had awakened creative knowledge among the natives. You inspired many people to look at different problems of life in different ways. You took care of people's needs and feelings.

I look back on the days when you were with us. I miss you so much. You always cared about people. It is very difficult to control your emotions. I want to see you in my dream with all the wonderful moments and sweet memories. What a good childhood was in your shadow. I have many stories to tell you. I enjoy sleep but no dreams.
